2013: Drawing transcription

Occasionally, I come across an artwork that I find fascinating. I first viewed this drawing by Jose De Ribera, A Saint Tied to a Tree, 1626, Red Chalk, 232 x 170cm, as part of an exhibition called 'Renaissance to Goya - Prints and Drawings from Spain' at the British Museum , London. In order to learn more I started to transcribe the drawing, this process was very rewarding as using red chalk on prepared paper was new to me, I really like the finesse I am able to achieve with this medium.

My version of 'A Saint Tied to a Tree', Red Chalk on prepared paper, 21 x 29.7cm, 2013
